Concerns
A rather powerful earthquake hit rather near Kashmir yesterday. What was once an estimate of 1,200 dead has since jumped a factor of ten to 12,000, and most of it is in the Pakistan-administered sector. Muzzaffarabad is cut off and that seems to be where most of the devistation occured. I hope that they get help soon and that the helpers create good faith and forge frienships and alliances between Pakistan, India, and the rest of the World.
Greg Dean from Real Life Comics looks like he bought a Volkswagen.... Used! Let us pray that he didn't get one of the ultra-lemony ones. And if he did, then we must team up to ask him to make lots of "wow, this Volkswagon is a complete pile" comics. Perhaps he can become a contributing artist for My VW Lemon.
Fausto and Marc from the Feast of Fools podcast have left the joint podcasting show Eat This Hot Show. It seems the fans are restless, and you can see proof if you check the Comments page. You will also note that Ragan Fox of Fox in the City, one of the contributors, doth protest too much. I posted a reality check because really, that boy has no business lecturing others on hate-speech. I do feel bad however that I reacted so badly to that Mike character. Props to Wanda Wisdom of Lucky Bitch Radio for handling the show as best she could with the sudden lack of two of the podcasters. She gets the ultimate prize for breaking my podcherry, but really, I <3 them all and am just saddened to see the drama. I hope that their rotating co-host ideas work and the show continues in delicious fabulousness.
My stress levels seem to have elevated over the past couple of weeks. I find myself less able to think clearly or maintain my cool when stupid stuff happens. Then again, this could all just be cool-off from the August/September panicky you-get-to-spend-tons-of-your-money weeks. I saw that Joanna will be getting a raise and got all scared about my own potential and forgot that I don't really need a raise and am quite comfortable at my job. It didn't help that I had to start driving to a different office at a more normal schedule and get used to traffic patterns all over again... But, long story short, I got over it, I cleared a few things off my plate, and it seems that my stress was coming through to my boss who was a wonderful gentleman and just sent me home early on Friday when the program we use crashed and ate a day's worth of work.
I went out to Crazy Nickels on Saturday, and it was closed, at 4:00 PM. My tourney is now cancelled.
Cool Things
Mom went to the hospital, but it was because they were worried that she had heart disease when really she was just coughing so much recovering from bronchitis. I am glad she had no problems, and she also invited me to Columbia next weekend to hang with her, Dad, and the Grandparents. I think I will be heading over Saturday morning/afternoon and coming back Sunday morning/afternoon.
Spud was wonderful this weekend. And I had a great time seeing Henry and playing Extreme2. I also had a good time finding the old North Dekalb Mall Max2 machine. My legs are sooo tired. We also ate at the Olive Garden near Fry's, and got the never-ending pasta bowl. It was delicious, and I kept attacking the goddamned meatballs. They were quite yummy. If your Olive Garden is doing a never-ending pasta bowl, I highly reccomend it. I must now figure out a way to make my own mushroom alfredo sauce.
One of the guys I met at the party last week is named Mark. I ended up chatting with him more and seeing him for lunch the following Friday. It was AWESOME. It was another person who completely got my humor, and we basically spent all of lunch running from one topic to another getting giddy silly. He also knows a lot about cars and has a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. I look forward to hanging with him a lot in the future.
Otherwise, I am off to go grocery shopping, make some dinner, and set some good foundations for a good start Monday. I hope you all have had a fantastic weekend, and I wish you a blessed week in the future.
